"I lived in 5 different countries, but moved 0 times!"*

* = I know there are only 4 pictures, but if you look closer, you'll see there are 2 countries listed for 2nd one.

In Serbia, you have the luxury of moving to another country without actually going anywhere. Every few years we either change name, change flag, lose some territory or do all three at once :)



Here's my history:
1) SFRJ [Socijalisticka Federativna Republika Jugoslavija/Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia] 1987 - 1992
2) SRJ [Savezna Republika Jugoslavija/Federal Republic of Yugoslavia] 1992 - 2003 (W00t! It lasted over 10 years!)
3) SCG [Drzavna zajednica Srbija i Crna Gora/The State Union of Serbia and Montenegro] 2003 - 2006 (It probably split up because the name was too long)
4) Srbija/Serbia 2006 - 2008 (with Kosovo)
5) Srbija/Serbia 2008 - present (Woooo!!! No name change :D )

As I said... 5 countries, 0 moves.... Beat that :P

Isn't Serbia without Kosovo, still Serbia? I mean, the Serbian government doesn't officially recognise Kosovo's independence, so it's as if the last picture never existed.

Let me see...
My grandma:
1. was born in II Polish Republic (1918-1939),
2. lived in III Reich* (1939-1944),
3. then it was simply Polish Republic (1944-1952),
4. which turned into People's Republic of Poland (1952-1989),
5. and now she lives in III Polish Republic (1989-onward)

So she can also say "ziveo sama u 5 zemalja, a selio se 0 puta" :)

* unless you don't count Nazi-occupied Poland as separate country, then it gives us four.

There was also a story in Croatian newspapers about an old lady in some Croatian village who never left her village, but she lived in:

1911-1918 Austria-Hungary
1918-1919 State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs
1919-1930 Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes
1930-1940 Kingdom of Yugoslavia
1940-1941 Banovina of Croatia
1941-1945 Independent State of Croatia
1945-1963 Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia
1963-1990 Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
1990-1991 Republic of Croatia
1991-1993 Republic of Serbian Krajina
1993-2003 Republic of Croatia

Beat that, 11 countries, and never left her village :D

Kosovo ce kad tad biti Srbija.

To je neminovnost. Oni ne mogu voleti Kosovo i Metohiju vise od nas, Srba. To je nase, uvek ce nam biti u dusi, u mislima, uvek je sa nama, u nama, medju nama.

Tezak je ukus osvajacki, otimacki, kada uzmes nesto sto nije tvoje ... nikada ga ne mozes voleti kao ono tvoje.

Albanci nikada nece voleti Kosovo ili Crnu Goru ili Makedoniju kao sto vole Albaniju.
Zato ce i izgubiti Kosovo, milom ili silom, kako su ga i oteli.

Da li za 2, 5, 50 ili 500 godina, Kosovo ce kad-tad biti srpsko, dokle god ijedan Srbin hoda Planetom Zemljom i dok je Sveta !

Tok istorije niko nikad nije promenio, pa nece ni Albanci ili Amerika tj. Zapad.

Косово ће заувек остати Србија шта год ти мислио и причао... Ја сам Србин - ЧЕТНИК и увек ћу бити ту за моју земљу и њене људе! А то што ти радиш и причаш је довољно да се сам запиташ шта си ти?! Подвлачим ја сам СРБИН, а ти пошто тако мислиш у вези КОСОВА онда ти вероватно ниси Србин... Ово ти не пишем из мржње већ из душе, размисли о овоме, КОСОВО је место где се рађала Србија, где је писана наша историја, зар је треба без борбе предати зато што то неки страни педери желе, запитај се шта си ти па онда можеш да коментаришеш на овакву тему и правиш неке слике, ако се не осећаш ко Србин онда се ни не мешај у наше ствари!
КОСОВО ЈЕ СРБИЈА!!!
